A speedboat is defined as any motorized vessel (petrol or gasoline) capable of reaching a speed of over 15 knots per hour. For the operation of speedboats, a valid operating license issued by the Port Authority is mandatory.
Every interested party must:
• Be 18 years of age or older
• Maintain good health (physical and mental)
• Learn how to swim
• Attend the required courses specified by the Ministry at a recognized school for speedboat operations, including a 6-hour theoretical course and a 6X45 practical course.
Documents required:
• Submit an online application to choose the date of your exam on the Ministry of Education’s website (ask us to send you the relevant link and step-by-step process)
• Declaration of responsibility and related documents provided by the school, with your genuine signature
• Copy of ID card or passport
• Copy of the Greek driving license – front and back (if you do not have a Greek driving license, a special certificate from a pathologist and an ophthalmologist is required; ask us for the relevant forms)
• 2 colored photos 3X4
• 1 digital photo sized 1000X1160 or 450X522 pixels (not scanned; a digital file from the photographer is required)
